UNAF and grain market participants signed a memorandum With the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine

The Ukrainian National Agrarian Forum, on behalf of its members and the grain market participants, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The document provides for the adjustment of grain exports based on real forecasts and yield indicators.

The parties agreed to cooperate on ensuring the harmonization of the balance sheet characteristics of the grain market of Ukraine, in particular, on the calculation of the maximum volumes of grain exports in 2018/2019 MY. The signing of the Memorandum in the grain market marks the start of a new marketing year. According to the preliminary results of 2017/2018 MY, Ukraine exported 39.4 million tons of grain. Of these, wheat - 17.1 million tons. The largest grain exporters were countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Now, the Memorandum has fixed the volume of the forecasted export of food grade wheat at the level of 8 million tons, which also includes the export of flour in terms of grain and 8 million tons of fodder. Both indicators are not final and can be adjusted after the end of the harvest and clarification of data on the amount of harvested grain and its quality.
